Vaughan Regional Medical Center announces $2.5 million emergency department expansion

Selma, AL. - Vaughan Regional Medical Center's Chief Executive Officer, Barry Keel, announces a significant renovation and expansion for Vaughan's Emergency Department. The new Emergency Department project will be a capital investment of $2.5 million dollars in the Selma facility.
The Emergency Department project is scheduled to begin in October 2007 with an expected completion date of summer 2008. The expansion will include an additional 2,500 square feet to the existing Emergency Department. It will include two new state-of-the-art trauma rooms as well as new and expanded waiting, triage and registration areas. A new front entrance canopy area will be also be added for patient convenience.
"We continue to be focused on enhancing our medical services and customer experiences at Vaughan, and we are excited about the positive community feedback we have received during the last several months as we have begun to move in this new direction. Our next notable expansion that we are pleased to be announcing today is the expansion and renovation of our Emergency Department. When complete, our Emergency Department facilities will be equitable in quality and presentation to our new Surgery Center that we opened in May 2007. We are raising the level of service at Vaughan and these enhancements will continue to compliment our renewed focus," Keel said.

This newest expansion to our facility in the Emergency Department is another significant step toward achieving this vision."
