Vaughan Regional Medical Center announces $1.9 million cardiac catherization suite expansion

Selma, AL. - Vaughan Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce the opening of our new Cardiac Catherization Suite. The new project will be a capital investment of 1.9 million dollars in the Selma facility.

The project included a complete replacement of current cardiac catherization equipment and a comprehensive renovation of the cardiac suite itself. The existing Cath Lab was replaced with a new state-of-the-art GE 3100 INNOVA Vascular and Interventional Imaging System.

Vaughan's Chief Executive Officer Barry Keel said, "Our new Catherization Suite is a state-of-the-art cardiac system that will allow us to better serve our patient population. In addition, the advanced technology associated with this new modern vascular catherization system provides us the capability to expand our scope of cardiology service as needed as we continue to upgrade our level of services at Vaughan."

Keel continued, "The completion of this project dramatically improves current vascular cardiac technology image capability, operational efficiency and ultimately customer satisfaction at Vaughan. The upgrading and replacement of the Cardiac Cath Suite is a key strategic initiative which is an integral part of our current facility master planning efforts to better support our physician needs and enhance the clinical capabilities for our patients at Vaughan."
